You might not know this about me, but I'm a WHORE for architecture, which today lead me to the grave of my favorite building artist...Louis Sullivan!
Poor guy died lonely, drunk and penniless. And not properly respected! I'm trying to do my part in that my next tattoo will be one of his design! More on that soon...
Overall, I must say that spending a sun-filled afternoon in a Victorian Era cemetery is a lovely way to pass the time! GO GRACELAND!

Whore!
Wow, I didn't realize Louis Sullivan designed the Carson Pirie Scott Building until now! He did a lot of detailed work.
I sure hope you put some nice flowers near his headstone, Justin!

Great place to take pics. Bad ass tell it like it is attitude plus into architecture. Hot.
Thanks Justin, it's always an education of some sort reading your blog.
are you kidding, i spent a month in ARCH170 listening to "form follows function" and some such crap.
every once in a while I take the train into the city with the sole purpose of hanging out here for a few hours ... it's the fliest cemetery of them all. Next in line, of course, is the circus cemetery
If you ever come back to St. Louis make sure you go to Bellefountaine Cemetery. It has some amazing architecture, no joke.

Did you see the movie about him, by his son? Great, great flick, check it out yo.
I took the #22 bus past this cemetery today and immediately thought of this post!
The headstones looked quite elaborate....at least from the bus window vantage point.
