N.A.S.A. "MONEY"

It's been awhile since I've anticipated a record dropping, but N.A.S.A.'s upcoming The Spirit of the Apollo has my nipples full attention. Take a gander at the guest list (just be sure you're sitting down first):

David Byrne, Chali 2na (Jurassic 5), Gift of Gab (Blackalicious), Chuck D, Method Man, E-40, DJ Swamp, RZA, John Frusciante, KRS-One, Fatlip, Karen O, Ol’ Dirty Bastard (from beyond the grave), Kanye West, Santogold, George Clinton, Spank Rock, M.I.A., Nick Zinner (Yeah Yeah Yeahs), Del tha Funkee Homosapien, DJ Qbert (Dr. frickin’ Octagon), Cool Kids, Ghostface Killah, Scarface, Tom Waits and Kool Keith, among others.

Hopefully I won't regret predicting that this will be the first truly tits-tacular record of 2009. If the rest of the songs are as as good as the single "Money", I'll be gloating and saying "I told ya bitchez!"

ok. first off, i'm a little drunk. secondly, i suck; me = bad friend. terrible person. the pol pot of friends. i will call you soon for an update on my life. quite hectic, goddamn planes crashing into mountains and such. moving to washington dc., new job, blah blah, inauguration madness. miss you. i like clipped sentences. and stream of consciousness.

on to the germane part: song is great. reminds me of thievery corporation. they did a great album called "abductions and reconstructions" that david byrne was on. so awesomely wierd and yet complimentary. also, thievery is playing a four night set in DC the weekend after the inauguration. you should come!!!!!

oh yeah. . .detroit auto show memories.

love ya

Not bad. Not bad at all.

But for such a short track, the groove gets stale really quick. If the music was as adventurous and exciting as David Byrne and Chuck D's vocals (and the really fucking cool video that accompanies it) this would be killer. Instead, it settles for "cool".

Of course, this is all coming from someone who just blogged about how much he liked a Lady Gaga song, so what the fuck do I know?
