TIME TO SLOW THINGS DOWN...

This weekend was the culmination of a non-stop two week party, beginning roughly a few days before I went to NYC, the following few days and then this weekend, in which I threw a holiday party, which was actually downgraded to a "get-together", due to the fact that the skies dropped 8 or 9 inches of snow on Saturday night. The roads were a mess, therefore most people choose to stay home, and those that came didn't stay too late. The good thing about how the party played out is that the get-together was fairly low key, and it seems that everyone had a good time.

Sunday, some friends and I went out for brunch and then I spent a lazy afternoon watching The Wire, aka, The Best Television Show Evah! Since I felt that a major hangover was in the cards on Monday, I opted to go to bed early, around 10 or so (usually I stay up much, much later). Around 2AM, I woke up drenched in sweat, and my heart was pounding. Not good. I spent the next few hours drinking water and trying my damnest to go back to bed. Didn't happen.

I called in to work and told them that I needed to see my doctor and that I would try to make it in later. Thankfully my physician was able to see me at 10:30AM. Mind you, my heart was still beating much faster than it should have been, very similar to to how it feels during a tough workout. After the examination my doctor seemed confident that nothing major was wrong, but just to be sure he told me to go to the hospital and have some tests run and to see a cardiologist.

After relaxing this afternoon both the fever and the heart palpitations stopped, and I feel much better. Roomie and I went to go see "I Am Legend" (such a cool fucking movie!) and now I am sipping cocoa tea. My couch and another movie is calling my name, and I intend to do nothing more than to go bed early. Too much booze, stress and not enough sleep these last two weeks had finally caught up with me, and I need to take it easy for awhile, especially with Christmas and New Year's Eve on the horizon.

Take Care Everybody.

Hope one of the tests was for HIV. Drenching night sweats is one of the symptoms. Even if they test for it, and it comes back negative consider retesting a few months later. Can take some people up to 6 months (most people in 3 months) to test positive.
