You know that scene from Casino where they put that guy's head in a vise? That's kinds how mine feels right now. Last night I met a friend at a bar who had a rough day. We responded by consuming a plethora of Jack and Cokes, hence the reason I'm phoning in this post today
It took me 2 weeks to get into the new Nine Inch Nails album, but I like it, this song in particular. On the YouTube page where I found this there's an amusing debate taking place in the comments section over whether the "G" stands for George Bush or Greed. Rather redundant, no?
PS - If the 17 year old girl in the next cubicle that was hired as a temp doesn't stop giggling, I may have a nervous breakdown.

After the first listen, I pretty much thought that this is the best NIN album since 'Downward Spiral'. ('Closer' will always be on my top ten songs to fuck to! Even before all the lil ones played it to death, 'cause it was kooool, cause it said the 'F' word.)
Reznor back on top! (or is it 'bottom' if you believe the gossip spread from sources 'in the know'!)
she is probably laughing at you for being so hung over :)
hola justin~
Since most of Trent's lyrics are painted with a very broad brush and religion being one of predominant targets over the years, I'm going to go with "GOD" as my “g” of choice. I think stamping Bush's face on this tune was simply a convenient - if not altogether unoriginal - way to sell a few records. I don’t pay attention much to record sales anymore, but I don’t think that marketing strategy has worked too well.
Oh well. Head like a hole, black as your soul.
NIN is quality. The lyrics are somewhat alright (considering I am not anti-religion) and the tune is always so layered that I can pick up a different beat and sound bite every once in a while.
Its been long since we conversed with each other. I am starting to miss ya... ahhhh!
The G stands for "Guh."
@Aussie: I dated this girl my freshman year of high school and our "song" was "I want to fuck you like an animal". Alas, I did not, in fact, fuck her like and animal nor even a human. I guess the signs were there all along...
@Billy: ...or she's just trying to drive me crazy.
@Hamilton: Hola Senior! Welcome home!
@Neal: You and your conspiracy theories...
@VJ: It has been awhile. Have you been hiding out the that big golfball looking thing at Epcot?
@Erin: Keep you fancy knowledge of linguistics in your pants young lady.
I really liked the new album. I thought it was kind of nostalgic of PHM because of the heavy synthesizer. Really political though(obviously). This was definitely one of my favorite songs.
