There's a reason I don't take naps, and that reason is that when I do take them, they last much longer than what would usually be construed as a proper "nap".
Case in point, after work I was waiting for my brother to call me (we were supposed to meet for beers). Around 8PM I decided to shower, then "lie down" for a few moments.
Fast forward 3 hours and I suddenly awake in a state of utter bewilderment. For a moment, I thought "damn, what did I do last night" meaning the very same night. That is to say, I was convinced it was Saturday morning.
After fumbling around for my glasses I see that the clock says it's "only" 11:15PM. "I can't just go back to sleep" I thought and slowly crawled out of bed. Since my brother had decided not to go out I called my buddy and we resolved to go out for drinks...at 12:30AM.
Since the bar was deader than Doris Day (wait, I think she's still alive) we went back to my buddies place to watch THE GREATEST TELEVISION SHOW EVER (aka, The Wire*).
Having missed the last 4 episodes (damn my lack of HBO) we picked up where I left off. I thought we would watch one episode and then call it a night. It was not. Instead, we drank Bacardi, got high and watched 3 more episodes. Next thing I knew it was 5:30AM!
Sleep came easily but around 10AM my I woke up with no provocation, and remembered all the shit I wanted to get done. The day was then spent like this: post office, bank, library, car wash, haircut, dry cleaners, grocery shopping and then the gym.
It's now almost 7:30PM and I feel like I just flew back from Europe - and I have a birthday party to attend tonight at a bar called "Relax Lounge", which as a friend pointed out is probably anything but relaxing.
It's going to be a long night...
*If anyone else is a fan and saw this weeks episode, I am available to console you as I am sure you are as distraught as I am at the death of a certain character.

See, you were right about it being Saturday morning--you just had to wait it out.
"deader than Doris Day" is such a cheap shot and an obvious attempt to get a "dig" in on one of the most successful movie stars in history. If today's "stars" had the talent that Miss Day has in one finger, they'd have it all.
How many of them can claim to have conquered five mediums? Day had tremendous success as a band singer, radio star, recording artist, movie star and TV star.
Dear Anonymous,
I dispute your claim that my intention was to degrade or insult Ms. Day in any shape or form.
She is a fine woman, please accept my sincere apology on her behalf.
