I HAD A GOOD DAY TODAY

Today began (begin) wiping the sleep out of my eyes, with perhaps the most attractive man I've ever been with; that's to brag, but I felt like I was in a dream, while I simultaneously pulled crust from my eyes, removed my right arm that kept him comfy all night, and gently kissed him on his cheek/arm/lips.

The night before, we agreed to wake up at 9am sharp, but 9:30am came around and we reluctantly pulled ourselves apart. It wasn't easy. We are like sick puppies in the morning, refusing to go away, full of not so gentle kissing and other things I won't mention. Human magnets. Needing to wash our bodies of sweat and cum, but barely bothering.

Anyways, I left and jumped on the train, the bus, the walk home, took a great shower, all the while thinking about how lucky I am I am and also how I pray I don't fuck this up. AND DON'T. FUCK. THIS. UP. In between kissing his neck, I dream of kissing his neck. It's that fucking real. To paraphrase a lame quote from some movie I can't remember, he makes me want to be a better MAN.

Outside of that noise, whew, I rocked the thrift store today, the one I am killing my community service time at. So there's that. And I feel GREAT doing it; even though I'm far from doing my time, I love working at this place. Organization is my jam, and I'm jammin' it. I tossed so much bullshit clothes today, it felt good.

Cheers to tomorrow!

WHOA, I HAVE MONDAY NIGHT OFF

Since April I have have worked every fucking (mostly) bullshit Monday night, a shift I inherited from a former co-worker. But tonight I was left off the schedule, and THANK GOD. Instead of making shit for tips, looking after the bartender and not seeing friends, I am a free man!

And..the Sober Guy I'm seeing, T, offered to make me dinner not only for me, but also for his Roommate, and her girlfriend. Pretty. Fucking. Rad. I have no idea what he's making, but it really doesn't matter.

I'm both excited and nervous; as the days go by, it seems more and more like an actual REAL relationship, one that has the potential to change my life for the better (not drinking). Plus, he's fucking HOT. What I did to deserve this person's attention...I don't know.

PATIENCE FOR THE RIDE

This morning I achieved a minor goal, in least in terms of energy exerted. Mentally it was a much greater challenge, but I did it, I finally got back on my bike for the first time since the accident back in September. And I'm happy to report that my collar bone remains (mostly) intact.

Although I was fine riding around I kept thinking back to that fateful night. I may or may not have fully written about the specific details, and I'm too lazy to look it up. So I figured a brief refresher might be of benefit, particularly to new readers. Here goes...

It was a warm fall evening, Friday night, when I got cut from work early. This was back in the Bouncer/Doorman days (funny how far away that already seems). Leaving Wicker Park around Midnight, I took the most direct path home, which involved riding along busy Ashland Avenue.

Three miles in I crossed a bridge that goes over the Chicago River (great view of the skyline, I might add) with too great of speed on a decline, when a fucking CTA bus rips right past me, literally it was about a foot away. I lost my balance and...landed on my shoulder first, head second and seemingly everything else third.

It didn't even hurt at first, until I tried to get up, which took a few tries though I was motivated not to be run over by traffic. Then I staggered approximately 1 1/2, bike in tow, bleeding profusely from just above my right ear and just below my right knee, before I finally collapsed on a street corner.

No one offered any assistance nor even questioned a bloody heap on the sidewalk, the drunks, I think were too busy minding their own business (the Cops didn't give a shit either). After calling a fuck load of people, I finally was able to contact a friend to pick me up. Unfortunately, her tiny German sports car necessitated me leaving the bike behind. Whatever X 10.

Perhaps it was the blow sustained to my head, but I don't remember anything after that until waking up the next morning, jeans stuck to my body wound(s) and unable to initially get out of bed. Holy fucking shit...that is a scary feeling.

So I guess what I'm trying to say is that, after a traumatic experience, one that I still have dreams/nightmares about, I got over my fear and got back in the saddle, as it were. And it felt good...or would have for not the goddamn 30 degree temperature this morning, but that's Spring in Chicago for you.

GOT LAID AGAIN

Somehow I managed not to fuck this burgeoning relationship up: cute Latino guy came over AGAIN today, and did things to me that...make me stutter. Damn, maybe it's a long way coming, but seriously, this guy seems to have fallen from the sky, and into my lap. I feel so easy around him. And Holy Shit are his lips awesome...so fun to kiss. I'm gonna go daydream now.

GOOD DAY!

This Monday turned out so much better than it began. I woke up on time and got to work, but I had a BAD case of the Monday Blues...which involved a mix of being kinda hungover and sore as hell from painting, moving heavy furniture and going to the gym (my abs are sore as hell).

After my first cup of black tea, I still felt like shit but reasoned that as soon as I got off work I would hit up the gay sports bar and watch the Cubbies kick the shit out of the Mets. This idea/thought got me through the day. The weather was awesome today too. Despite a weird fog/haze, it got in the mid-70's today and OMG did it feel nice.

Then a had to endure a very boring hour long meeting. Usually I can peer out the window of the conference room and watch the jets land at O'Hare, but now that a new projecture thing has been installed, they draw the blinds closed, and after 20 minutes I fell asleep. Not once, but thrice. Fucking Monday meetings...

When I got home from work I changed clothes and poured myself a stiff Bacardi and Diet Coke then promptly reported to said gay sports bar. There was a really hot guy that made all kinds of eye contact with me, but he left in the middle of the 3rd inning (BOO!).

During the 7th inning stretch I went outside for a smoke and this kinda cute/hipster kid with Buddy Holly glasses gave offered me $0.50 for a smoke. He was cool, if perhaps a bit too "gay" for my taste, but cool regardless.

I was left with the hot bartender and a pair of lesbians on my right who were more concerned with the trivia game that competed for their attention with baseball and the basketball playoffs. I spent the night knocking back Stellas and IM'ing/trash talking with Billy (in your face Bitch!).

After the Cubs won I decided to jet and despite the fact that Stella's were on special tonight, I was surprised to find that my tab was only $5. I think the cute bartender took a shine to me. I even second guessed him and he reassured me that my tab was right! I have a new crush...

WOOT! Cubs are 13-6!!! I feel like I'm gloating, but damn if this wasn't a good Monday!
